Vermont Hunting and Trapping Guide

Since the earliest of times humans have harvested their food from the land. Early in Vermont’s history people were raising their own crops and hunting, fishing and trapping to provide healthy food for their families. This lifestyle necessarily ensured that we were deeply connected with the lands around us.

Today, much of our food is ultra-processed filled with additives and preservatives. We also see our kids spending a great deal of time staring at one screen or another. Neither of these is healthy and separates us further from the beauty that surrounds us.

As a hunter or angler, you can help share the tradition of hunting, fishing and trapping with our youth. In doing this you will help sustain an activity that gets our kids outside, encourages healthy eating and develops a love for the simple joy of connecting with nature.
