Local news has been the heart and soul of The Times since George O. Willard founded what was then known as The Evening Times in 1885. The first edition of The Evening Times hit the streets on the afternoon of April 30, 1885. Today we continue to proudly serve the southern Blackstone Valley of Rhode Island, including the cities of Pawtucket, Central Falls and East Providence and the towns of Lincoln and Cumberland. We also serve the nearby Massachusetts communities of Attleboro and Seekonk.
