La Voz de la Calle

"La Voz de la Calle" , radio newspaper, was born on August 10, 1955 in the old house on 437 Bolívar Street, where Radio Libertad operated almost from its foundation in 1951 until 1963 when it moved to its own location on Zepita Street. 452, in the Civic Center of Trujillo, Peru.

The history of more than half a century of this Trujillo company is rich in events of all kinds, and in which, although there are many pleasing and very positive, is also dotted with hard struggles and not a few surprises.

The radio format of the time allowed the presence in the microphones of the station of the greatest figures of theater and artistic work in Latin America, from Libertad Larmaque to Los Panchos Trio, including Hernando Avilés, Tin Tan, Raúl Martínez, first Miss Universe Christian Martell, the Boy from Arizona, Joe Carson, Nicolás Urcelay, Xiomara Alfaro, Julián Robledo, Julio Genta, Alberto Castillo, Cholo Berrocal, Luis Abanto Morales, Edith Barr, Los Dávalos and, obviously, all the figures of the restless musical world of the city.

They were other times full of a unique Trujillo cultural independence and where, from Lima, only the Esso Report was received that Radio Libertad broadcast at 8:00 am and pm taking the chain with the then very powerful Radio América. All the artists and personalities that passed through Trujillo were, obviously, interviewed by the radio newspaper.
