Westmoreland News Montross VA
Volume 1 #1 was published December 3, 1948 as a Friday publication. Paul W. Manns was the editor; L. Ross Moore was the president; and the paper was printed by Caroline Printing Company in Bowling Green, Va. Later in 1949 it was printed by Tidewater Weeklies in Montross.
Westmoreland News, under then editor Lynn Norris, introduced RiverViews in the late spring of 1991. November 3, 1993 Chesapeake Publishing bought Westmoreland News from Atlantic Publications and it became a “sister publication” of Northern Neck News. February 2001 Westmoreland News was sold to Tribune Publishing; followed by the purchase in April 2002 by the Diederich family; then the August 1, 2007 sale to Lakeway Publishing.
