AOPA Germany

AOPA stands for Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. With more than 400,000 members worldwide and representation in 75 countries, AOPA is the largest pilot association in the world. All national AOPAs belong to the international umbrella organization IAOPA, the International Council of Aircraft Owner and Pilot Associations. AOPA-Germany's constructive and critical lobbying is also important in Germany. Since 1964, it has represented the interests of 4,600 private and professional pilots as well as over 65 companies, 75 aviation clubs and 100 flight schools in Germany. With around 23,000 aircraft, general aviation (AL) represents the largest area of ​​air traffic in Germany. It includes all civil flights that are not scheduled flights and is therefore the individual traffic component of aviation - comparable to car traffic on the Street. Only a strong association has the opportunity to effectively represent the interests of general aviation in a wide variety of committees. Because pure individualists cannot overcome the political challenges in general aviation.
