PHL has its origins in Montreal, Quebec, in 1973 when its founder, Gilbert Rousseau, opened his first sporting goods store. In 2013, Pro Hockey Life was purchased by Canadian Tire and is operated as a banner under FGL Sports. Today, PHL has 20 stores across Canada in 5 different provinces.
