Founded in 1904, the Louisiana State Nurses Association is the unifying voice for nursing in Louisiana to positively influence the future of health care. LSNA continually advocates for changes to the nurse practice act to reflect the changing role of the registered nurse. Louisiana State Nurses Association is an association of nurses working for nurses. They represent all of Louisiana’s RN’s and LPN’s.

LSNA’s mission is to empower the registered nurse, advocate for the practice of nursing, model nurse advocacy and political involvement, and to champion quality health care for all. The Louisiana Nurses Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the LSNA with a focus on promoting professional nursing through academic scholarships, professional development, recognizing nursing accomplishments, and establishing and distributing funds for the Nurse Relief Fund.
