TextilWirtschaft

Textilwirtschaft is a German-language news, business and fashion magazine. The trade magazine has been published by the Dfv Media Group in Frankfurt am Main since 1946 and appears every Thursday. The e-paper is available the day before. As the only weekly trade magazine in the German-speaking area for the textile and clothing industry , it ranks third in the Horizont ranking of the 150 trade media with the highest advertising revenue in 2019 with gross advertising revenue of 15.70 million euros.

TextilWirtschaft was founded by the journalist Wilhelm Lorch. On September 10, 1946, he received a "license to publish technical books and magazines for the textile industry" from Publication Control of the US military government in Heidelberg. The first issue appeared on October 10, 1946 as the founding publication of Neuer Fachverlag GmbH ( Stuttgart ) , which was renamed Deutscher Fachverlag GmbH in 1948 when the company moved to Frankfurt am Main . It had 12 pages, 1/3 of which was devoted to advertisements. Due to paper shortages, the magazine was only published every two weeks. Since January 1, 1950, TextilWirtschaft has been the official organ of the Federal Association of German Textile Retailers (BTE). In the same year, it had a subscription circulation of more than 14,000 copies. In May 1997, the magazine's online service, TWnetwork, was launched. In 2012, the online offering was expanded to include apps for mobile devices.
