The Beacon serves the news and classified and retail advertising needs of readers in the Carrollwood, Citrus Park, and Westchase communities in Hillsborough County. The Beacon is owned by Tampa Bay Newspapers Inc., which has served the communities of Pinellas County for nearly 40 years through a chain of free weekly and monthly publications. It is also the sister paper of The Suncoast News, which has served readers in western Pasco and northern Pinellas counties for more than 50 years. The Suncoast News also covers community news and events around Hernando County.
