The Swiss Association of Occupational Therapists (EVS) has been the only professional association for the approximately 2,800 occupational therapists active in Switzerland for over 60 years. It is equally available to professionals working in Switzerland. With over 2,200 active members, the EVS has an organization rate of over 80%. Over a third of the members are self-employed occupational therapists, most of whom have their own practice. The EVS is primarily committed to maintaining and developing the profession, its effectiveness and quality.

To this end, it is networked with all the important players in the occupational therapy world, i.e. with all medical organizations, authorities and the three universities of applied sciences. In addition to representing professional interests, the EVS offers member advice that covers the areas of law as well as technical and business knowledge. It also offers its own training and further education courses in the three national languages, publishes the journal “Ergotherapie” and, in addition to the central office in Bern, maintains a network of 14 sections nationwide.
