The Clemmons Courier NC
The Clemmons Courier was founded in 1960 by Myrtle Tomlinson as the village of Clemmons began to grow as a suburb of Winston-Salem, and when Interstate-40 was completed. Mrs. Tomlinson's husband, Gordon, was publisher of the Davie County Enterprise Record. She first set up shop in Weatherwax Pharmacy and interviewed customers for the newspaper and served as publisher until her retirement in 1985. Dwight Sparks has served as publisher since then. The newspaper's office is in the heart of the village at 3600 Clemmons Road. Located on the Yadkin River, Clemmons has grown to become an upscale suburban community.
