KREM 2 is the CBS affiliate serving the Inland Northwest. Rooted in Spokane, the station has a rich history of serving the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene region for nearly 60 years. News broadcasts can be watched on KREM 2 and KSKN 22. The station is also carried on cable systems in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.
It all began October 29, 1954 when the station hit the air. KREM 2 began as an ABC and DuMont Network affiliate. In the late 1950s, the station was briefly affiliated with the NTA Film Network. KREM 2 became a CBS affiliate in August 1976. KREM was originally owned by a radio group. The radio stations were sold off in 1984.
