The Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald is published two times per week (Wednesday and Saturday) and is the leading source of news, sports, and life styles in a four-county area of northeastern North Carolina, covering Bertie, Gates, Hertford and Northampton counties.
Founded in 1914 as the Ahoskie Patriot, what is now the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald has published under several banners for over 100 years, to include The Herald, the Hertford County Herald, and the News-Herald.
What hasn’t changed over that period of time is our commitment to provide hometown content and regional/state news that impacts the four counties of the Roanoke-Chowan region.
