People Inc. (formerly The Mining Company, About.com, Dotdash, and Dotdash Meredith) is an American digital media company based in New York City. The company publishes online articles and videos about various subjects across categories including health, home, food, finance, tech, beauty, lifestyle, travel, and education.

It operates 40 brands including the flagship title People, Life, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, Better Homes and Gardens, Verywell, Allrecipes, Real Simple, Investopedia, Southern Living, Byrdie, Serious Eats, The Spruce, EatingWell, Health, Parents, InStyle, Simply Recipes, Entertainment Weekly, and Martha Stewart Living.

In August 2012, About.com became a property of IAC,[4] owner of Ask.com and numerous other online brands, and its revenue is generated by advertising. In addition to its Manhattan headquarters, Dotdash Meredith maintains offices elsewhere in the New York metropolitan area, as well as in Des Moines, Iowa, and Birmingham, Alabama.

The company took its Dotdash Meredith name in 2021 after IAC acquired Meredith Corporation and Time Inc. Time had merged with Warner Communications in 1990 to form Time Warner, but was spun off as a publicly traded company in 2014. Time Warner kept its legal name until being acquired by AT&T in 2018 and being renamed WarnerMedia (and Warner Bros. Discovery in 2022).
