WHBQ TV Memphis TN

Since first signing on the air on September 27th, 1953, as WHBQ-TV Channel 13, we have proudly served the Memphis community. Back then, we were owned by Harding College alongside WHBQ radio. Originally, we operated as a CBS affiliate with secondary ABC programming.

In 1994, WHBQ-TV was acquired by News Corporation, the parent company of the Fox network. The following year, in December 1995, we switched our affiliation to become the first and only Memphis station ever to be owned and operated by a major network, FOX. Today, FOX13 is part of Rincon Broadcasting Group, continuing to provide the best in news and entertainment to our viewers.

Be aware of deceptive schemes using the image or likeness of FOX13 journalists and meteorologists. FOX13 is issuing an urgent warning about scammers and imposters seeking money by illegally impersonating our station’s on-air personalities.

Scammers have been creating fake social media accounts, stealing logos and photos from FOX13 personalities. The scammer may pose as a FOX13 personality and make promises of friendship or a relationship in exchange for payment. The scammer may also use AI deepfake videos to make the scam more convincing. This is always a scam.
