After serving in the Air Force and returning from World War II, Clint started working at Ralph’s Neon. He later purchased it and named it Hi-way Sign Company, largely because it was located on Highway 212 and the company had many billboard locations across the state. In 1972, the name of the company was changed to Stein Sign Display. Clint Stein also started a wholesale sign manufacturing business called ESCO Manufacturing in 1965. ESCO produces signs for other retail companies (like Stein Sign Display) across the world. He designed and patented a machine called The Rollformer, capable of producing sign frames with one sheet of metal.
