This was the message given to the staff of this media outlet by the founding director, Dr. Carlos Freire Heredia , a teacher by profession and author of important literary works aimed at strengthening the educational level.

Dr. Carlos Freire , a visionary committed to the development of the city, decided to publish the first edition of Diario La Prensa, with the slogan "La Prensa, a young newspaper with faith in Chimborazo," its first edition circulated on February 14, 1992.

On February 14, Valentine's Day, the launch of this media outlet took place in the Provincial auditorium with the presence of the authorities of that time.

The challenge began 33 years ago, and throughout these three decades, with the publication of his notes, photographs, and magazines such as ' Hablemos' , ' La Vida ', and ' Canchero ', the publications are connecting everyone from children to the elderly .
