In 2014, Belgians spent no less than 5.62 billion euros shopping at home behind their computer screens, 15 percent more than the previous year. From a purely economic perspective – and apart from the ecological impact of home deliveries – we could call that good news. And it gets even better: in many European countries, the rise of so-called e-commerce is directly linked to increasing sales of vans, which have to deliver all those parcels from door to door. In our country, the big 'boom' has not yet occurred, but it does seem that larger vans will soon have the momentum on their side.
