The setting: the most beautiful stadium in the world. The witnesses: more than 600 decision-makers from the transport world. The event: the 2014 edition of Best of TRANSPORT, without a doubt one of the most beautiful ever. Our annual gala evening, organised in the Ghent Ghelamco Arena (Gand) with the support of Transport and Logistics Flanders (TLV), also produced some fantastic winners. Super Best Dealer. DAF Trucks dealer Truck Trading Limburg (TTL, Houthalen) was voted best dealer of all truck brands. The Limburg dealer, who also represents Fiat Professional, invested in both its people and its infrastructure. Best Reseller. For the first time, special attention was paid to the second-hand market. This resulted in a first Best Reseller award, which was won by second-hand specialist Group Hocké. Best Innovation. The “Best Innovation” went to Van Moer Group, for an exceptional inland shipping project. The company transports waste from Flemish Brabant to the Deurganck dock via inland shipping. For this, Van Moer uses special high cube containers that can transport up to 60 m³ of waste. With this project, Van Moer Group saves the Antwerp ring road 12,000 trucks per year, a CO2 reduction of 1,274 tons. Safety Award. Tanktransport Thys saw its efforts in the field of road safety rewarded with the Safety Award 2014. The jury praised the company for its extensive safety equipment on the entire fleet (adaptive cruise control, fatigue assistant, automatic emergency brake, alcohol lock, automatic tire pressure system, etc.). In addition, Tanktransport Thys attaches a great deal of attention to training and spares no expense to introduce Antwerp students to the blind spot problem.
