The Belgian Vehicle Registration Service (DIV) is facing a problem. It started last month, when the DIV switched to a new IT system. Due to a series of teething problems and stability issues, applications piled up and new registrations could not be registered. The result: unsuspecting buyers of new vehicles stood in line for hours at the DIV counters, only to return empty-handed. CEO Jean-Paul Gailly recently even pleaded in the newspapers to stay away from the DIV, because they simply can no longer keep up with the influx of applications. A rather painful situation, especially since professionals who invest in new vehicles should be able to assume that they will actually be able to use those vehicles in the foreseeable future. Not so. In short: our country has yet another Belgian joke. The Greek Vehicle Registration Service is also at its wits' end, although they are struggling with problems of a completely different order. In the first four months of this year, a mere 100 vans were registered in Greece, while in our country this is still more than 11,000 units (- 7.8 % compared to last year). The van market is therefore holding up relatively well, which is also the reason why we are presenting you with our new purchase guide in this edition.
