Political Science Quarterly

Published since 1886, Political Science Quarterly is a major political science journal publishing articles and book reviews on government, politics, public policy, and foreign relations.

Broad in subject matter, PSQ has no ideological or preferred methodological orientation and is edited to be accessible not only to scholars but also to general readers who have a serious interest in public and foreign affairs.

PSQ’s Editorial Board is distinguished by the breadth and caliber of its membership and includes world-class political science and social science scholars from a wide range of universities and think tanks worldwide. Editorial Board members support the journal with their exceptional knowledge, effort, and energy.

PSQ’s articles are broadly cited in related academic works and widely used in classrooms. The review articles and the 25 to 30 book reviews in each issue are timely and thorough, to keep readers up to date on the wide range of new works in the field.

The journal was founded in 1886 by Columbia University Professor John W. Burgess, the first president of the Academy of Political Science, with the active involvement of New York publisher George A. Plimpton. PSQ is the official journal of The Academy of Political Science.
