The Morning Star is the North Okanagan's community newspaper, delivered free to homes on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. We cover the communities of Oyama, Coldstream, Lavington, Lumby, Cherryville, Vernon, Silver Star, Falkland, North Westside, the Okanagan Indian Band, Spallumcheen, Armstrong, the Splatsin First Nation, Enderby, Grindrod, Ashton Creek, Kingfisher and Mabel Lake. With a circulation of more than 32,000 papers, the Vernon Morning Star serves the communities of Vernon, Coldstream, Armstrong, Enderby, Lumby, Cherryville, Oyama, Spallumcheen, Grindrod, Falkland and Silver Star every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Morning Star has been the North Okanagan's paper of record since it was founded in June 1988 as a new independant voice in an already busy newspaper market. And while two of its competitors, the News Advertiser and the Daily News, have ceased publication, the Morning Star has risen as one of the best community newspapers in the country with numerous provincial and national awards. It has also been recognized by the Canadian Community Newspapers Association for its outstanding record of community service.
