International Olympic Committee
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization founded on June 23, 1894, by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, with its headquarters based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It serves as the guardian of the Olympic Games and leads the global Olympic Movement, overseeing 206 National Olympic Committees, International Federations, and Organising Committees of the Olympic Games. Tasked with ensuring the regular celebration of the Games, the IOC supervises, supports, and monitors their organization in line with the Olympic Charter and Host City contracts.
