The Times and Star
Times & Star is a weekly tabloid newspaper serving the Allerdale area in western Cumbria, UK. British Newspapers Online It is owned by the Newsquest Media Group.
Initially published in 1967 as The West Cumberland Times & Star, it adopted its current name in 2004 though its roots include much older local titles from the late‑19th and early‑20th centuries.
The paper comes in three editions (Cockermouth, Maryport, Workington), prints in tabloid format, and focuses on local news, features, sports, weather, travel and community affairs.In 2024 its average circulation per issue was about 3,078.
