Tribune and Times

Tribune and Times, Harrisonville MO

Reaches 30,000 People per Month

The Tribune and Times is the leading news source in Cass County, one of the largest and fastest-growing counties in the state of Missouri as well as neighboring county, Bates. The paper serves as a major new source and paper of record for a number of communities including Harrisonville, Pleasant Hill, Peculiar, and Adrian.

Founded in April of 1997 as the Harrisonville Star, the paper quickly made the transition to a regional publication serving cities throughout southern Cass County. In 1999 the paper began serving Bates County. In the summer of 2022, the 140-year-old Pleasant Hill Times ceased publication, but the subscribers were brought to the Tribune. As a tribute to the last pre-20th Century publication in the county, the name Times was added to the masthead and the Tribune and Times was born.

The paper provides community news from throughout its coverage area, but not just as a news aggregator of social media posts and press releases, but provides extensive coverage from a group of professional, veteran reporters. In the four years the Tribune has been eligible to compete in the Missouri Press Association’s “Better Newspaper Contest,” the staff has won over 50 awards in editorial competition as well as several in advertising, including "best graphic artist" in 2024.

Although it had a web presence, the Tribune and Times did not launch a comprehensive site until late in 2022. Since that time, the presence of the paper has grown to over 50,000 readers monthly, using both individual stories and e-editions of the newspaper. The print publication, using standard metrics, is read by over 30,000 individuals every month. The paper has both subscription base and POS.

Advertising in the Tribune and Times provides clients with a wide-range of readers, from up-scale suburban areas to very rural populations. Booming growth in both the residential and business communities provide outstanding opportunities for advertisers to reach a broad range of readers in both economic and interest terms.

The counties are on the south end of the Kansas City Metro area and a large number of our population base commutes to the Kansas City area regularly for both employment and shopping.

The Tribune and Times is actively involved in its communities, serving as a sponsor for a number of charitable events. The paper is also an active member of the Harrisonville Area, Peculiar, Pleasant Hill and Adrian chambers of commerce.

The Tribune and Times offers the best opportunity to reach the communities it serves.
